Step-by-Step Process to Change AO Code

Step 1: Write Application to Current AO

Write a formal application to your current Assessing Officer stating:

  • Your current PAN number
  • Reason for AO code change (address change)
  • New address details
  • Request for transfer

Step 2: Application to New AO

Submit a separate application to the new Assessing Officer under whose jurisdiction your new address falls. Request them to initiate the transfer process.
